NCGPS Fall Event

Presenter: Katie Griffin, MA, LPC, CGP, FAGPA, CGP

Location: Online via Zoom

Saturday, November 7, 2020

8:30 AM – 4:30 PM PST (Pacific!)

Course Description:The role of a group leader today challenges all of us. What does it mean to be a group leader in this paradigm? This conference will address the pressure to be resilient in the face of global crises. We will explore together our existing assets available for use in new ways. This will be a didactic and experiential event.

Participants will learn how to handle the impact on group members of a pandemic, polarizing political climates, systemic racism and climate change, assist them with responses to turbulent economics, gender-based and racially oppressive systems, help them talk to each other about the emotionally significant journey of their lives while broadening their capacity for here and now intimacy. It will also help us learn how to deal with our own reactions to all of these subjects while holding and bearing the larger part of anxiety created by life in our society, and do this online.
